Still getting over my cold and saddle sores.  Went swimming and tried out my new pull boay.  I also swam a 800 m in 15:30, but i had to switch to two stroke breathing quite a bit.  Did drills afterwards.

For the first time I swam a 800 M with breathing every three strokes.  I focused on breathing out before I took my breath and that helped. I tried to stay relaxed.  My time was not too bad. 15:40.

I spun for 30 min on my trainer.

New PR today on the swim.  I swam a 15:23 for the 800m.  My previous was 15:25 in October.  I have worked on breathing on both sides since then so my times have been lousy, but I know if I work on the right technique, then I will get faster than I would have.

Did 45 min on the bike on the indoor trainer.  Did not use a lot of tension since I was watching my knee.

Ran a easy 10K at 8:30 miles.  Felt pretty good.  My knee was hurting a bit afterwards.  I am not sure what kind of knee pain it is.  It started several months ago on the bike before I had it fit right.

Welcome to the blog! Are you the guy who ran with Tom and the ladies on the Monday after Thanksgiving?

Did some strength training on first thing this morning. and then spun real light for 36 min.  I am focusing on getting a smooth pedal stroke.

I went swimming afterwards with my brother from California.  He did pretty good, but does not have any endurance.  I did some form intervals and went from  a 53 sec 50 m to a 49 sec. just my focusing on form.

My knee did not hurt at all today

Welcome John! Glad you finally decided to join up! I think there are a few other tri-guys as well. Should be interesting to see how you run-bike-swim guys train.

Glad you joined in on the fun John! We knew you couldn't resist when you found out that Sasha had added the tri categories! I am excited to see how you train. Happy New Year to you and that cute family of yours!

Hey, how cool is this, the swim yards are converted to miles for the overall milage total. I have ran over a 1000 miles in one week. . . .

From Tom on Tue, Jan 01, 2008 at 18:42:27

Yeah John your mileage really rocks for the week! Looks like your headed for 50000-100000 mile year for 2008!
